With more than 20 different roles offered across the theme parks, water parks, Disney Springs and resorts, no matter your role, a Disney Program provides a unique and diverse learning and working experience. Each role truly gives each participant the opportunity to build transferable skills, including networking, problem solving, teamwork and effective communication.

The Disney College Program is excited to offer a HBCU cohort powered by Disney on the Yard for summer 2023. This cohort provides an opportunity for meaningful connections and a sense of community where all participants can be their authentic selves as we work toward a more inclusive environment.

Disney on the Yard was established to deepen engagement with HBCUs through mentorship, networking, and exclusive programming. As a participant of this cohort, you will be invited to serve as an ambassador for your university and Disney on the Yard.

    Disney on the Yard launched its inaugural Disney on the Yard Summer College Program in 2022 with participants representing 35 HBCUs.

    Yardfest

    Yardfest is presented by Disney on the Yard and all Disney College Program participants are invited to join in the fun. The 2022 event was hosted at Flamingo Crossings Village and participants were able to meet Drum Major Mickey Mouse, learn more about HBCUs and HBCU culture, and enjoy a Divine Nine sorority and fraternity stroll off.

  • What is Disney on the Yard?
    Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do at The Walt Disney Company.
    Disney on the Yard was established to deepen engagement with Historically Black Colleges and Universities through mentorship, networking, and exclusive programming. As a Disney College Program participant of the HBCU cohort, you will be invited to serve as an ambassador for your university and Disney on the Yard.

  • What can I expect on arrival day?
    Check-in begins at Flamingo Crossing Village, and can begin as early as 8am. All required items and location information for each appointment is located on the participant's itinerary which is unique to them. Click here for more information on arrival day.

  • What might a Disney College Program participant’s work schedule look like?
    Participants could work the equivalent of a full-time schedule, so they must have full work availability, which includes working days, nights, weekends and holidays. Participants must also be flexible to work any time of day, including early morning or after midnight. Click here for more information regarding the earning component of the program. 

  • Is internship credit offered for participating in the Disney College Program?
