You will receive your specific apartment unit assignment and have a photo taken for a Program ID, which must be carried at all times.
During the check-in process, you may be asked to take a drug test. This test is required for specific roles only and just takes a few minutes. The company also has a policy of drug and alcohol testing on a random basis or under other circumstances during the course of employment.
Post Offer Employment Physical Ability Test (POEPAT)
Your position may require a post-offer employment test designed to measure the physical abilities needed to safely perform your role. These tests simulate the motions and movements performed in a role such as lifting, pushing, pulling and placing items on a shelf. These tests are designed to ensure that candidates are capable of performing essential job functions safely.
Don’t forget, you need to have your employment eligibility documents with you so we can verify your I-9 Work Authorization Form. You must have the original documents, not copies. If you don’t have the originals, you will not be able to start working.

- Passport with visa stamp
- Original DS2019 form signed, city where signed and dated (J-visa holder only)
- Proof of medical insurance from Lloyds of London (J-visa holder only)
Work Location and Training Schedules
Work location area information, along with your assigned role, will be communicated on the arrival itinerary (about a week prior to your scheduled arrival date). This information is subject to change based upon operational need. Training schedules with exact work location specifics will be sent prior to your first day of work (Traditions) via email. Keep in mind not everyone’s training schedule will look the same. Some roles may require a few days of training, while others may require more.
Background Check (Florida only)
Don’t be alarmed when you’re asked to undergo a criminal background check; all of our Disney cast members take one when they’re hired. As part of this process, you will be fingerprinted. This process is all done on computers so you won’t have to worry about walking around all day with black ink on your fingertips.
Lifeguard Swim Test
Lifeguards typically take their swim test the second day of check-in. Details will be distributed during the check-in process. During your swim test you will be tested on the following:
- Swim 200 yards (183 meters) freestyle or breaststroke
- Retrieve a 10-lb (4.5 kg) brick from the deepest section of the pool (minimum 8 feet / 2.4 meters) using a feet-first surface dive
- Tread water with hands out of the water for two minutes
- Vision test

The role you’ll play throughout your program is crucial to our success, so be prepared to make some unforgettable memories and lifelong friendships while you’re here!
Family & Friends at Check-in:
Family members are not permitted to be a part of your check-in process. If friends or family plan to accompany you to assist with move-in, for their safety and comfort we encourage them to stay in your hotel accommodations or drop you off and take in area attractions while you complete your full check-in process.
