Medical insurance is not included as a benefit for participants on the Disney College Program, or the Disney Culinary Program.
Though having medical insurance is not required, we do highly recommend participants obtain coverage for the duration of their program.
It may be helpful to consult with your current medical insurance provider regarding their coverage for students participating in academic internships, co-ops, or work-study programs.
Cultural Representative - 12-month Program (Q visa)
Health and life insurance are provided for participants of this program; however, this coverage does not take effect until the first day of the month following completion of ninety (90) days of continuous service. We strongly encourage participants to have the appropriate insurance coverage before this date in the event they require medical attention. Participants may select any medical insurance policy that best fits their needs.
Cultural Representative - Program of less than 12 months (Q visa)
Health and life insurance are not provided for participants in these programs. The United States does not have government-funded health services; therefore, we strongly encourage participants to purchase the appropriate insurance coverage in the event they need medical attention while living in the United States. Participants may select any medical insurance policy that best fits their needs.
Cultural Exchange Program (J visa)
Cultural Exchange Program Australia/New Zealand (J visa)
Health and life insurance are not provided for participants in these programs. The United States does not have government-funded health services; therefore, per visa requirements; participants must have sufficient coverage in the event they need medical attention while living in the United States. Participants are required to provide proof of insurance prior to their arrival. If you are a United States citizen, you are not required to purchase a medical plan.
