Whether you’ve lived far away from home before or have never been more than a few miles from your loved ones, we want to make sure you are ready and excited to begin your Disney story. Each checklist contains important actions/ milestones you should follow to prepare for your program.

Our appearance standards are an important part of our company's heritage. You are expected to review the full Disney Look guidelines prior to arrival. You must be fully compliant with the Disney Look guidelines when you arrive.
30 - 60 Days Before Arrival
As your arrival day draws closer, please keep watch for important communication from us with links to several items you must read and/or complete. You will need to frequently log into your Dashboard account, DOC account, DORMS account, and Workday account to add information and complete documents/tasks.

Incoming participants may have the opportunity to indicate preferences for apartment floorplan and/or roommates.

Ensure you have your Documents for Onboarding
Prior to departing to the United States, you MUST have the following original documentation (no copies will be accepted).
- Passport with visa stamp*
- Original DS2019 Form signed, city where signed and dated (J visa holder only)
- Proof of medical insurance (J visa holder only)
- *VERY IMPORTANT a photocopy is not acceptable

Verify you have the correct insurance so you are covered during your program. Some programs have very specific requirements.

Police Clearance Certificate
As part of the employment process, you will need to complete a background check, except for Japan and Hong Kong passport holders. Upon accepting your offer you must immediately request your police clearance certificate. Our licensed partner company will be contacting you to request additional documents and with further instructions. Failure to provide the requested information/documents prior to your arrival will result in the cancellation of your participation on the program.

You are responsible for all travel costs to and from the United States, as well asto your check-in location.
Check-in could begin as early as 8 a.m.
Your exact arrival time will be on your itinerary, approximately one week prior to your arrival date.
If booking travel prior to receiving your itinerary, plan to arrive no later than 12noon EST to Flamingo Crossings Village. You will be responsible for transportation to any missed appointments.Review the Check-In Details section for more information including directions to the check-in location and an overview of your first few days.
Please note that check-out time on your program end date/departure date is 10 AM.
Cultural Exchange Program Participants may arrive in the United States up to 30 days in advance of your Program start date. HOWEVER, if you arrive in the United States more than 7 days in advance of your arrival date, you MUST notify Immigration Compliance of your arrival at wdw.ic@disney.com.
10 - 20 Days Before Arrival
Your arrival day is right around the corner! Please ensure all of the following items are completed so that you are ready to go.

Itineraries for your arrival group will be sent about 6 days prior to your arrival. It will have all the information for your first week's appointments, as well as your role.
You will not receive your itinerary if we are missing any of the following. Make sure you complete them as soon as you can:

A message to access your onboarding tasks will be sent from Workday 4 to 6 weeks prior to your arrival date prompting you to complete the required pre-arrival tasks. Please complete all required tasks as soon as you receive the message.
This includes your I-9 Section 1 and your Workday Tasks.

Pre-Arrival Video Requirement
In anticipation of your program start date, you will receive a series of pre-arrival videos via email. They are a pre-arrival requirement and will need to be completed prior to check-in.

Renter's Insurance
Renter's Insurance is not mandatory; however, American Campus Communities strongly encourages securing renter's insurance including coverage for personal liability, as it is the only reliable source of financial compensation should any possessions be damaged, lost, or stolen due to fire, theft, flood, vandalism, loss of power, or any other unforeseen act.
